As a small grassroots organization, SchoolBOX is entirely dependent on donations from kind people like yourself. We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the support that we have received over the course of the last year. Your financial contributions mean that we will be able to literally help thousands of primary aged students. Unlike many organizations, SchoolBOX does not have high overhead costs. As a result, we are able to get your money to where YOU want it to go!

Please find a list of our funding priorities below.

If you have made an online donation, and wish to receive a gift card in someone's honour, or for a special occasion, please email Michelle Kay - michelle@schoolbox.ca, and indicate the donation date, amount, and how many gift cards are needed.

Monthly Donations: SchoolBOX would love you to become a monthly donor. By giving regularly, we are able to reduce our costs, and plan our operations better. Please consider giving any amount monthly, as any gift, small or large, can make all the difference in the world.

If you wish to send a VOID Cheque by mail, or if you wish to have more detailed instructions on how to donate via CanadaHelps for monthly donations, please click here: http://www.schoolbox.ca/monthlygifts

Supplies 4 Success: In some areas of Central America the poverty is so extreme that a simple notebook or pencil can prevent a child from getting a basic education. This year SchoolBOX will be delivering thousands of Educational Packages to students. With sufficient supplies to study for an entire semester of school, these packages make a big difference. At $5.00 per Educational Package (we have increased to cost of a package to include more notebooks), your donation will go a long way.

Soccer Dreams Program: SchoolBOX takes used soccer equipment from Canada and delivers it to schools in Nicaragua, Central America. Schools receive a soccer package including uniforms, balls, and other equipment from SchoolBOX. The idea is to "keep school fun". Your donation will be used to package, ship and distribute the soccer equipment in Central America.

Tools 4 Schools: Due to chronic underfunding, many public schools lack the most basic infrastructure with which to function. By donating to the Tools 4 Schools project, you are providing impoverished schools with chairs, desks, world maps, washrooms, libraries and other basic equipment. You are also empowering SchoolBOX to build new classrooms and schools. It is simple and it works.

The Brett School: La Escuela Brett (Brett's School) will provide an opportunity for 100's of children to learn how to read and write. This amazing facility, which will include 8 classrooms, washrooms and an administrative office will be named in memory of Brett Bentley Crawford who was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 19. Brett was a close personal friend of SchoolBOX President Tom Affleck. La Escuela Brett will include the C.H.A.N.C.E Preschool which was made possible by the generosity of the C.H.A.N.C.E. foundation (www.chancefoundation.ca) and its supporters.

La Escuela Brett will provide a permanent home for the Jezreel School which began under a tree 8 years ago in the La Primavera community in Managua, Nicaragua. This amazing school, which has not received funding from the Nicaraguan government, managed to operate based on the sheer faith and determination of its teachers. Over the course of its short history the School was forced to move locations 7 times as it could not afford the rent which was as little as $30 a month. Please join us in making this dream a reality!

The Shirley Case Fund: Shirley Case was one of 2 Canadian aid workers tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008- she was 30 years old. Shirley devoted her life to helping and loving the children who needed her most all over the world. In celebration and remembrance of this true Canadian Hero, we are joining together to install mini-libraries in several schools across Nicaragua . These resources will greatly increase the quality of education and the experience for students in SchoolBOX schools. Please join us!
